Hello, I’m linda, my work is presented as a game, I wrote the code in unity to achieve the 2d game effect, the code is written in c++ language, the game model is referenced from Little Fox game, this is my first original game. The reason for choosing games as a medium is that I am a game lover, I started to get into games when I was in first grade and Obi Island influenced me a lot. Obi Island is a web game where each character has their own story and players can talk to them to unlock new stories. There is also 7k7k games, 7k7k games is a 2d games overview website, you can play a lot of games on this website, they are all made in flash, flash is a relatively old software, so I chose the current relatively new software unity to make it, unity is a very powerful software, a lot of games on the market are made with it, such as king’s glory. In the work showcase game I chose the 5 big assignments I have done so far and rearranged them for display as a reward for passing each level of the game. The player uses the ad key to move left and right and the space bar to jump and destroy monsters by jumping. When the player reaches the exit of each level, press the e key to see the results of the level and the player can turn the page by clicking left and right with the mouse. The name of the game is MIRROR, inspired by the Chinese philosopher Mencius who said that I have to examine myself three times a day, and I was deeply influenced by that. Every day we find out what is bad about our image through the mirror and adjust our image through the mirror. So I named the game Mirror, which integrates my 5 big assignments, which act like mirrors, mapping my past achievements and contributing to who I am now. In front of each level I designed the introduction as a preamble to the project. This was inspired by Teacuphead, which starts the game with a story about Teacuphead and the mug. In the levels, the player moves the character ‘I’ to pick up the project skills (software) given to me by the artwork and displayed in the top left corner of the game.

In terms of the layout of the portfolio I have summarised the development process of the ep files for the five projects and have distilled it down to a few essential processes, roughly inspiration- research- develop- outcome.

The first project, Pony Adventure, was a team assignment in which I realised my leadership potential and inner drive to design pony activities for Hermes, a book by the Little Prince which says that every adult is a child, although only a few remember it. It is not for nothing that a childish looking game was used as the Hermes campaign. Through my research I found that many of the Hermes campaigns and designs were full of childishness, so I chose Hermes as the brand I designed. In this project I mainly applied an to do animation and show the game interface running.

The second project is about my hometown Yuyao, a small city whose visitors usually come for the Yangmei and Hemudu ruins and do not have a systematic tourist route. So I combined my experience to create a treasure hunt for Yuyao, allowing visitors to punch in spots through the app and earn rewards to promote Yuyao’s tourism. The five coloured maps correspond to the five coloured Yuyao attractions.

The third project is about a perfume brand called moment. The idea of designing this brand came from a DIY perfume experience I had when I was at a loss for a name after making a perfume. Through research, I identified the audience and developed a systematic design.

The fourth project was about extinct animals and I designed a more complete brand in conjunction with beadwork, a technique that is also at risk in China.

The fifth project was about video game addicts, for whom I designed a set of board games that incorporated psychology.

I chose lcc’s graphic media design because my work was still rather graphic and I found that the interest in design was in exploring social issues and I was willing to look deeper into the design, which resonated with me when I looked through ual’s website to see the work of students in this subject.

My name is Linda, I like to design interesting things, and in my spare time I play games with my friends, so my design is usually related to games. As the little prince said, every adult was once a child. I hope I can keep my innocence and let the audience experience happiness from my works. This is my original intention.
